We had crossed a dry gully while walking in Crow's Nest NP and
this little lizard ran across our path. It ran into the dry grass
and tried to become a stick – This is what Hoby Dragons do.
I followed and while not really expecting it to stay put long
enough to point a lens at it, I went through the motions anyway.
Close-up attachment, camera settings and all that, then I started
shooting. I inched closer trying not to make any sudden moves as
I removed some badly placed blades of grass. In the end I took 31
digital images and 2 frames of film before my knees complained
too much. After a morning of mainly photographing Angophora bark
I was pleased to find something from the animal kingdom to focus
on. |
