On the reef islands these plants are quite common. They grow just behind the beach and have tiny white flowers. The berries are the size of peppercorns. I've walked around these island numerous times. With so much else to see these small things usually get over looked, but if you take the time to look closely they are quite attractive. Seeing them makes me want to go back to the warm sand where they grow with the gentle lapping of water nearby.
