On a coral island off the Queensland coast - a shaft of light reaches the forest floor reflecting a strange glow back onto the trees. A moth has been sheltering under a leaf, protected from the light rain earlier and hidden from the hungry birds. A shaft of sunlight reaches this spot and for a few minutes it is exposed, then it is gone again and it can safely wait for night. The pisiona forest is a strange place, it often reminds me of the enchanted forests I imagined listening to “Hansel and Gretel” or reading Tolkien. A spooky place and a special place, filled with noise yet peaceful. A place where I can shelter from city life. |
